Operating Code for the
Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s)

I. Name: The name of this position is the NHAHPERD Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s).

II.
Purpose: The purpose of this code is to provide the Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s) with an outline of the duties and responsibilities of the position of NHAHPERD Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s).

The purpose of this position is to:
1. Serve as a liaison between Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart and NHAHPERD.
2. Promote NHAHPERD Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart programs in New Hampshire.

III.
Organization:
A. Eligibility: The Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s) must be a current member of NHAHPERD.
B.
How Elected: The Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s) is/are appointed by the President with the approval of the Executive Board. (The Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s) shall be an ex-officio member(s) of the NHAHPERD Executive Board and can, but not need, be an officer(s) of said board.)
C.
Term of Office: The Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s) serves a term of three (3) years with the opportunity to serve successive terms.
D.
Vacancy: In case of a vacancy, the President will appoint a person/people to fill the unexpired term(s).

IV.
Duties:
A. The Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Chair(s) shall:
1. Attend meetings of the NHAHPERD Executive Board as an ex-officio member(s).
2. Conduct a year-round program of publicity to inform the membership of NHAHPERD of the goals of the Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Programs, to promote the programs within NHAHPERD, and to recruit participation of membership in these events.
3. Distribute current information to NHAHPERD members through each publication for the NHAHPERD News and correspondence.
4. Hold a workshop at the annual NHAHPERD Fall Conference to help members understand and implement JRFH/HFH programs.
5. Maintain contact with the general public to promote JRFH/HFH.
6. Maintain an effective relationship with local, state, district, and national segments of JRFH/HFH and affiliated association, and attend appropriate meetings and functions.
7. Serve as a member of the Joint JRFH/HFH with American Heart Association - New England Affiliate.
8. Coordinate JRFH demonstration team program and recruit additional teams as necessary.
9. Present a budget for promotion of JRFH/HFH to the NHAHPERD Executive Committee on an annual basis.
